FAILED BACK SURGERY SYNDROME
Failed Back Surgery Syndrome is a term for the condition of a patient who has had several back surgeries and continues to experience back pain.  It is important to note that failed back surgery does not mean the surgery was done incorrectly.  Because it is possible to have as many as six to eight different pain pathologies producing the pain state, it is important to understand the source of your back pain.  Proper detection of back pain can prove to be further degeneration of the spine, scar tissue, or a different diagnosis than that of the performed surgery.
